Who must have ISO 50001
Companies with an average annual consumption above 85 TJ (23,611 MWh) must implement an energy management system under ISO 50001 and have it certified.
For companies above 10 TJ, certified ISO 50001 replaces the mandatory energy audit.

Yes, the standards share a common structure and can be implemented in a single integrated system.
Do I need metering for ISO 50001?
The standard requires monitoring and measurement of significant energy uses. The extent of metering depends on your operation, and you can start with the ISO Base level.
